Cuesta de Oro

In the 1990s, we were one of the first wine producers to develop a fresher style of Verdejo, the typical grape variety of the Rueda region. We have discovered how far Verdejo is enhanced by maturation in barrels. Our Cuesta de Oro is a beautiful expression of Verdejo’s nobility and has established a position as one of the top Rueda wines.

Description

Winemaking techniques

Harvesting by hand with successive sorting. Maceration on the skins (around 12 hours). Pneumatic pressing. Cold settling. Yeasting. Alcoholic fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels. Maturation in barrels on very fine lees for six months with regular yeast stirring.

Tasting notes

Straw yellow appearance with pearly touches. Intense and bright.

Intense, fresh and complex nose. Ripe white fruit, freshly chopped herbs and delicate dried flower aromas. On the palate the wine is well structured, rich, full and well balanced with the notes from the nose returning in lingering form, providing aromatic complexity.
