Le Clos Rosé

The Pézenas terroir is one of the most complex in France. It is bordered to the east by the Hérault River which cools the vineyard, and is also sheltered from strong winds by the Montagne Noire to the north. The vines are at altitudes of 0 to 300 metres, and despite getting little rainfall (700 mm per year), they do enjoy 40% more sunshine than the national average.

Description

Winemaking techniques

Night-time harvests, with the Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes pressed and immediately chilled (8°C). After 24 hours, the juice is placed at 8°C for at least five days before settling out and fermentation. After fermentation, the wines are racked and matured on fine lees with frequent re-suspension.

Tasting notes

Charming on the nose with floral and fresh fruit notes (currant, Morello cherry), this Languedoc rosé proves beautifully vibrant and crisp on the palate whilst still retaining its roundness and finesse.
