Gran Lurton White

An incredible Argentinian wine that revisits the history of this country, where 40% of the population is of Italian descent. François Lurton, a huge fan of white wine from Friuli (northern Italy), wanted to pay tribute by making a wine from ‘Tocai Friulano’ (80%) vinified and matured on the lees in barrels. Combined with Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, this is a fruity, rich, lively and very refreshing wine.

Description

Winemaking techniques

Harvesting by hand in crates after grape tasting to find the aromatic peak. Pre-fermentation maceration in the press, pressing. Fermentation in barrels, partial malolactic fermentation. Maturation on the lees with regular yeast stirring in barrels (three-year-old barrel stock). Only the Tocai is matured in 100% French oak barrels for nine months.

Tasting notes

The yellow colour with green touches is representative of the grapes used, primarily Tocai with some Viognier. Fresh lime and herb nose with touches of vanilla and hazelnut, well balanced and oaky. Supple on the palate and delicately rich in the finish.
