Cabernet Sauvignon – Alta Coleccion

A highly reputed red grape variety originally from Bordeaux. Internationally renowned for its ability to adapt to different terroirs, its planting in cool areas of Mendoza enables the grape to produce rich, elegant wines. It is now the third most widely planted grape variety in Argentina.

Description

Winemaking techniques

Cold maceration (5 to 10°C) for three days. Alcoholic fermentation at 26°C with selected yeast for around seven days. Post-fermentation maceration for three days. Some of the wine is matured in third-fill barrels.

Tasting notes

The wine is a clean, deep ruby colour. Notes of tart small red fruit with a floral touch of violet. Subtle oaky touches offer a reminder of the wine’s short period of maturation in barrels. On the palate the wine is full and rich in the attack, with the fruity freshness typical of the Uco Valley. The wine slowly develops into a lingering oaky finish.
